Maya Wang is a sustainability storyteller and ESG communication strategist with more than ten years of experience in strategic communications, with particular expertise in ESG, sustainability, and corporate narrative development. She supports organisations in translating complex sustainability, innovation, and business transformation agendas into clear, credible, and influential communications that strengthen reputation, build trust, and deepen stakeholder engagement. 

Her work spans corporate reputation, media strategy, public affairs, strategic issue planning, and stakeholder engagement across complex and fast-evolving sustainability topics. She is particularly experienced in shaping narratives that connect sustainability ambition with business relevance, policy context, and public credibility. 

Over the course of her career, Maya has supported global institutions, cross-sector sustainability initiatives, and multiple Fortune 500 companies in developing sustainability narratives and strengthening external engagement. Her work has included communications and narrative support for projects and initiatives featured at UN Climate Conferences, international sustainability forums, and other high-level global platforms. At GeSI, she brings particular value through her ability to connect sustainability ambition, technical innovation, and business priorities with communications that resonate across markets, sectors, and stakeholder groups. 

Maya holds the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing and a private equity fund manager qualification. She also serves as a Council Member of C Team and as Vice Director of the Audiovisual Communication Committee of the China Environmental Journalists Association.
