Advancing Climate Action Through Digital Innovation 

In the face of an accelerating climate crisis, the need for bold, collaborative, and systemic solutions has never been more urgent. The intersection between climate policy and digital innovation presents a powerful opportunity to drive transformative impact — not only in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions but in building inclusive, climate-resilient societies. 

Recognizing this potential early on, the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) have built a long-standing partnership rooted in shared values and complementary strengths. As an official observer to the UNFCCC, GeSI has consistently worked alongside the climate community to elevate the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in addressing environmental challenges.

This collaboration has evolved over the years to include active participation in the UNFCCC Conferences of the Parties (COP) and now, through the United Nations Solutions Hub, GeSI and UNFCCC are jointly working to identify, showcase, and scale actionable digital solutions that contribute to the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
