In a major step toward advancing global climate solutions, the United Nations Solutions Hub (UNSH) was officially launched today at the UNFCCC Pavilion during COP30. The event gathered leaders from the UN, multilateral development banks, city governments, and global industry partners, spotlighting how technology and collaboration can jointly address the pressing challenges of climate change.
Led by the United Nations Climate Change Global Innovation Hub with the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) responsible for platform development and global partner coordination, and with support from Tencent as a key technology contributor, the UNSH aims to bridge critical gaps between governments, industries, and financiers—helping transform innovation into real-world climate impact.
The United Nations Solutions Hub will bridge innovation with implementation—linking the technology and finance communities with those on the frontlines of climate impact. This is how we turn ambition into measurable progress.
A Digital Bridge for Climate Action
The UNSH serves as a digital bridge linking stakeholders worldwide, having as its first goal serving the cities demand for climate & sustainability solutions. Based on the most recent AI capabilities, the hub will support cities to understand their needs: intelligently recommend solutions and will pro-actively search for innovative solutions for the unmet needs.
Its features, including AI-powered matchmaking, resource sharing, and intelligently search for innovations, enable seamless collaboration between solution providers and those seeking climate solutions.
“The UN Solutions Hub will serve as a digital bridge between climate solutions, partners, and implementation needs, helping to match innovations with finance, expertise, and local demand. By linking to what already exists and revealing where the gaps remain, the platform will help scale transformative solutions more rapidly and inclusively” said James Grabert, Director, Mitigation Division, UNFCCC.

James Grabert highlighted that the UN Solutions Hub will digitally connect climate solutions, partners, and finance to accelerate global action.
“Today marks a historic moment and the beginning of a journey — the first step of something greater,” said Luis Neves, CEO of GeSI. “Through UNSH, GeSI, our membersand partners are building a global public-good platform that connects cities, governments, financial institutions and innovators through data, digital infrastructure, and AI. Our ambition is clear: to turn this milestone into a movement for scalable, inclusive climate action. The UNSH will serve as the backbone of the Digital Public Infrastructure and the Paris Agreement.”

Luis Neves highlighted the potential of digital technologies to unlock sustainable transformation.
Zhai Yongping, Senior Advisor at Tencent, emphasized the role of digital infrastructure in facilitating global collaboration: “Tencent is proud to contribute its digital expertise to support UNSH. By combining technology with shared purpose, we can accelerate global climate action.”
