GeSI’s Water Digitalization Initiative (WDI) goal is to advance global water security and resilience through digital innovation and collaborative strategies. The mission aims to spearhead collaborative innovation and leverage our expertise in digital technologies to contribute significantly to global water security efforts while increasing the value of the enabling capabilities of ICT.
Project Objectives:
- Demonstrate enabling capabilities of the ICT industry that contribute to the tangible benefits of all parties in the value chain toward achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG 6).
- Select and showcase “scalable” and “glocalized” use cases and digital solutions that are devised for global distribution but adjusted for local contexts, with the potential to catalyze impact at scale with local and global stakeholders within a defined timeframe.
- Focus on “collaborative innovation,” capitalizing on GeSI’s enabling capability of fostering collaborations to develop private, public, and academic sector collaborations, both local and global, that support the efficiency and efficacy of the innovation process as well as potential funding opportunities for the projects.
- Share knowledge and drive thought-leadership to positively influence decision-making by policymakers and investors, boosting financing and funding into water sector innovations to scale digital technology solutions.
- Leverage GeSI’s other initiatives to create “synergy,” where applicable, to maximize impact, efficacy, and scalability.
