UCLG

United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) is the world’s largest organization of local and regional governments, dedicated to amplifying their voices and empowering communities globally. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Barcelona, UCLG fosters collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level. Through its decentralized network—comprising seven regional sections, a metropolitan section, and a forum for regional governments—UCLG strengthens democratic participation, transparency, and accountability. The organization convenes the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments, ensuring their collective influence in international agendas.
