Earlier this month, GlobeEU, our esteemed EU Parliamentary partner, hosted a series of insightful panel discussions focused on “Greening Competitiveness: The EU Industry’s Path to Sustainable Leadership.” GeSI was honoured to participate in the event and proud to have several of our members featured in one of the key panel discussions.
The event brought together thought leaders and experts to discuss the pivotal role of digital technologies in driving sustainability and competitive advantage within the European industry. The third panel discussion, titled “Digital Transformation: Streamlining Compliance for Competitive Advantage,” was particularly noteworthy. Moderated by Sirpa Pietikäinen, Member of the European Parliament, the panel explored how digitalisation and AI can enhance resource efficiency and competitiveness across various industries by optimising operations, supply chains, and energy use.
GeSI members who participated in the panel included:
- Melanie Kubin-Hardewig (Deutsche Telekom)
- Diane Mievis (Cisco)
- Vilma Kaza (Google)
- Kurt Van der Herten (Kyndryl)
Each panellist shared valuable case studies and innovative solutions, demonstrating the transformative potential of digital technologies in reducing administrative burdens and fostering sustainable practices.
GlobeEU, a European Parliamentary group dedicated to sustainability issues, has been a platform for discussing policy proposals and coordinating political action among like-minded legislators. Over the past year, GeSI has actively participated in numerous sessions with GlobeEU, advocating for the recognition of digital technologies in addressing sustainability challenges and legislation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to GlobeEU for hosting this impactful event and to our members for their insightful contributions. Together, we are paving the way for a greener, more competitive Europe.
