GeSI Welcomes Maya Wang as Communications Manager

The Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) is pleased to welcome Maya Wang as Communications Manager, strengthening its capability to deliver clear, credible, and impactful communications across the GeSI and Digital with Purpose ecosystems.

Maya joins GeSI with more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, with a strong focus on ESG, sustainability, and corporate narrative development. Her work has consistently centred on translating complex sustainability, innovation, and business transformation agendas into communications that are actionable, relevant, and trusted by stakeholders.

Her expertise spans corporate reputation, media strategy, public affairs, strategic issue planning, and stakeholder engagement. Maya has worked extensively across fast-evolving sustainability topics, supporting organisations in shaping narratives that connect ambition with business relevance, policy context, and public credibility.

Over the course of her career, Maya has collaborated with global institutions, cross-sector initiatives, and multiple Fortune 500 companies. Her work has contributed to projects and initiatives featured at UN Climate Conferences, international sustainability forums, and other high-level global platforms.

At GeSI, Maya will play a key role in strengthening how the organisation communicates its work—ensuring that complex digital transformation, AI, and business performance agendas are translated into clear narratives that resonate across industries, regions, and stakeholder groups.

Her appointment comes at a time when the role of communication is becoming increasingly central to enabling credible business transformation—moving from reporting to execution, and from ambition to measurable impact.

Maya holds the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing and a private equity fund manager qualification. She also serves as a Council Member of C Team and as Vice Director of the Audiovisual Communication Committee of the China Environmental Journalists Association.
