The report was jointed commissioned by GeSI and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It presents the conclusions of an analysis of the mechanical, electrical and environmental characteristics of most commercially available external power supplies. More than 300 devices were verified and more than 200 electrically measured to contribute to standardisation activities in the ITU to promote more energy-efficient ICT products, specifically Recommendation L.1000 on Universal power adapter and charger solution for mobile terminals and other hand-held ICT devices.
