SUMMARY:Kaohsiung 2025 Smart City Summit & Expo
DESCRIPTION:  \nLuis Neves\, GeSI CEO will deliver a keynote address at the CITY COP Forum\, part of the Kaohsiung Smart City Summit & Expo (KSCSE). In 2024\, Kaohsiung launched the CityCOP high-level forum in collaboration with ICLEI to establish the Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Community of Practice (ComP). This initiative\, chaired by Kaohsiung\, provides a platform for capacity building and peer learning\, uniting cities\, towns\, provinces\, subnational states\, and regions across East Asia and the Asia-Pacific that are dedicated to achieving climate neutrality and promoting smart city innovations for sustainable transformation by 2050. \nThe 2025 CityCOP Forum will officially launch the ComP project and initiate high-level discussions on key themes related to climate neutrality\, aligning with the priorities of COP30 in Belém\, Brazil. The forum aims to showcase global initiatives that are being implemented locally to combat climate change and protect ecosystems. Focusing on the theme of fostering climate neutrality through innovation and community collaboration\, it will explore important sub-themes such as resource circulation\, urban biodiversity\, and green mobility. \nHigh-level representatives from international cities\, global organisations\, industry leaders\, academia\, and civic groups will convene at the forum to share insights\, encourage collaboration\, and promote innovation and regional cooperation towards achieving climate neutrality. \nOn the 18th and 19th\, Luis Neves will be a speaker in two workshops focused on Circular Development and Innovation.
